I really don't know how to express in words what happened in Saskatchewan. We never know how to act in these situations and we never what to say or even how to say it. Young lives were lost and many more are forever changed. These young men had dreams and its heartbreaking to know that they won't able to acheive those dreams. They would have become NHL stars, doctors, laywers, scientists who would find a cure for cancer. They didn't have a care in the world, all they could think about was going out on the ice and playing the sport they loved and cherished. I know that the rest of the team would be able to play twice as hard in hopes that their teammates would cheer them on and giving them the strength they need to power through.
This tragedy was unimaginable. Nobody was expecting this and we could have never imagine the number of lives lost, but I know that the men would always be looking over their friends and loved ones. My thoughts and prayers are with the families involved and I wish the survivors a speedy recovery.
Rest In Peace. Let's keep their memory alive by remembering them in every way we can.
